What we fund
ALYP puts money behind programs that put a young person in a uniform, on a team, or in front of a room, and expect them to rise to it. The list is never closed.
01
Teaching government, civic engagement, and leadership.
A week of running a working model government: elections, legislation, and the arguing that comes with both. Delegates come home understanding that civic life is something you do, not something you watch.

Encouraging youth to learn and speak on the U.S. Constitution.
Students study the Constitution closely enough to defend it out loud, from memory, in front of judges. It builds the rarest pair of skills in a teenager: knowing the material and holding a room.

Promoting discipline, focus, and marksmanship.
Supervised air rifle competition built on range safety, patience, and repetition. The sport rewards the quiet kid who does the same careful thing a thousand times.

Building teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong character.
Season-long team play where showing up for practice matters as much as the box score, and where losing well is part of the curriculum.

Developing responsibility, self-reliance, and service to others.
Outdoor skills, merit work, and service hours that turn into a habit of usefulness. Scouting reaches kids early and keeps them for years.

Fostering leadership, aerospace education, and emergency service skills.
Cadets train in aerospace, search and rescue support, and chain-of-command leadership. Many arrive at sixteen and leave with a career direction.

Teaching respect, discipline, and citizenship.
A youth program built on drill, fitness, and drug-free living, run by adults who hold the standard and hold it evenly.

Civic engagement and community leadership for teens.

Family and community bonds through outdoor recreation and mentorship.
